I’m going to keep today’s story nice and short because by now you’ve read 7 emails from me….LOL and i appreciate that hahah but also, thats a lot of reading! Also low key my brain hurts…

This is somewhat a continuation of the archetype series…..a part 2 if you will.

After i wrote the first 5 archetypal songs for the client a few months later they commissioned me to write 3 more - for Persephone, Hecate and Isis. Now I remember saying yes to this commission then considering refunding the money and moving away from the project because i had just found out i was pregnant and i was acutely aware at how deep these songs required me to go. I didn’t feel like opening myself up to such raw emotions in such a time of transformation.

However it seems the universe had different plans for me and around a week later i unfortunately miscarried. I was actually quite thankful that i had a project like this to focus on, it provided me with both a means for distraction while also simultaneously being such a tool for healing.

Today i’m sharing the song “isis” with you all.

Great mother Isis, the goddess of healing and magic, was crucial to ancient Egyptian religious beliefs. She is known today by her Greek name Isis; however, the ancient Egyptians called her Aset. Her name translates to “Queen of the Throne” which is reflected in her headdress, which is typically a throne.

Isis was very important to the ancient Egyptians because she had so many different powers. She was both the protector of women and the bringer of magic
